I am your president for this year and have a jam-packed year planned for you all with plenty of fun socials and lots of riding.  Last year I was the secretary of the club and got to know a lot of faces this I will be carrying on again this year.  We had a very successful year last year with the B team winning the national BUSA trophy finals, something I want us to build on this year.  I have competed on the uni teams for the last two years with last year being my best year getting to the regional finals for A team competitors.  I want to be a friendly and approachable face for you all this year and my email inbox is always open to you, whatever the question.

Alex Cravero - contact: ac261@kent.ac.uk - 2nd year Law

Hi! I’m Alex, having gained valuable insight into the club by being part of the B Team last year, this year I’m in charge of the new position - Marketing and Promotions. My role involves creating the new website and keeping it updated with all of the essential news, results and information to give each of you somewhere to find all of the information you need about the club and what’s happening. On top of this, I have to work on finding new sponsors that benefit the club, through discounts and so on; and make sure that they stay happy in the mean-time. My aim this year is to make sure everyone in the club has a fun and memorable year, and gets the most out of the club as they possibly can! If anyone has any ideas about sponsorship or fundraising come and chat to me, I’m always around!

My name is Natasha and I’ll be your secretary this year.  I’m a second year Law student and was also involved with the club in my first year.  I’ll be responsible for the bookings of the rides and helping with the general running of the club.  I hope that I can help to make the club to be as much fun as possible whether you are an experienced rider or looking for a new challenge.  As well as this, I am aiming to make the club accessible to as many people as possible.  Let me know if you have any ideas that may help to make the club one of the best run and most sociable clubs on campus!

Hi everyone and welcome to the University of Kent! I will be your team captain for this year. The club enjoyed great successes in the BUSA leagues last season and it is my, and the clubs aim to improve on this for the coming season! As team captain my role is firstly to help pick teams that will represent the Kent (usually 3 teams of 4) and then to keep in close contact with BUSA and our team trainer so that competitions and training sessions can be organised and run smoothly.  This year I will also aim to have a friendly team that will provide an introduction to competition and hopefully encourage more club members to get involved with helping and supporting their club at competitions. Finally I look forward to seeing you soon and hope that we can get some strong teams together to have a brilliant 2007-2008 season!!

Helen Gilbert - contact: hg45@kent.ac.uk - 2nd year

Hi everyone! I'm Helen and I will be assisting Leon as social secretary for the club. In this role I aim to help welcome everyone to the club by providing fun non-competitive events for everyone to take part in. Socials will be based around fun with horses from pub polo, on-foot gymkhanas, BBQ’s and much much more. and also some good non-horsy nights out for everyone to enjoy. As we all know, university is about having fun and that’s what I aim to achieve for everyone in the club, whether you’re new to riding or have been riding for years. Both Leon and myself would appreciate any ideas so please let us know if you have any!

Leon Short - contact: ls228@kent.ac.uk - 2nd year Multimedia, Technology and Design

As joint social secretary with Helen, I aim to arrange social activities for members this year 2007 - 2008. Over the summer of 2007 I worked organizing summer student’s activities at the University for various groups. This has given me a good idea of what would make a fun social activity. Among the activities arranged for the students are sport night consisting of various disciplines and games in the sport centre on campus, Beach volleyball, trips and to be in keeping with the general interest of club members Gymkhanas and hack’s will be all part the program for this year any suggestions will be welcome if there are any activities club members wish to do, as extra activities can be arranged and included in a program. The main objective for the 2007 - 2008 year is to get every member of the club out on these social events to get to know each other and bond as a group in and out of the teams.
